Why does an app need 6 votes? Why can't we have just 2 'trusted testers'? These are folks who are members of the community.
Testers (with a maemo.org garage account) test packages and vote on them using the following:-

Votes can be positive or negative depending on if they pass all criteria.

The more different devices/people used for testing the better as different set-ups may find different bugs.
