I've noticed that the flashing procedure does not replace some of the existing files, and can thus fail to solve some of the trickier problems. The solution I've been using for this, was to flash to OS 2007 and then back to OS 2006. But reading about the Russian Roulette got me thinking that a rm -rf / might be an easier (and more entertaining) rout. However, I am not sure weather my Nokia will be able to reflash after that. Will it?
