I choose the N800 for use as an UMP. It is very good for calendaring, email, office work, games, and music. It is also nice that you don't have to buy applications, or pay for ongoing services. You do have to learn how to install apps and troubleshoot the device yourself.

The auto installs from the webs along with the application manager allow you to custom configure it to get exactly, well pretty much, what you want out of it. Even if you only have very limited linux experience. It doesn't take long to catch on to the sequence of events for doing installs.

You also might find that it is best to stay away from the bleeding edge of software development if you want to use it as a reliable tool in the office.

OS2007 has the essential office environment apps. gnumeric doesn't work in OS2008 yet. If you use complex spreadsheets then you'll have to lag back and monitor the forums until those who rush in get that all sorted out. There are still cell formating issue.

GPE calendar has to be turned on in order for its appoinment alarms to work. It won't wake the device and launch itself. So if you have a 7am alarm you need to leave the N800 on overnight with GPE calendar running.

That means you also need to leave it on the charger. I prefer it greatly to my old LifeDrive, and it is much more portable than my PSP.
