I'm not usually the type of person to voice frustrations here and have long been one of the people trying to calm people down about things, but as this situation continues to drag out, I'm finding my own resolve and enthusiasm for the product and the platform beginning to run out.

Of course, I feel guilty about voicing my opinion considering that I'll be getting an N810 at a greatly reduced price; something that Nokia does not need to do (especially not for me specifically).

I understand that Nokia is huge and because of that, things fall through the cracks or just can't be accomplished as fast as we would like... but the last few months has made me question if it wasn't just the developer program that fell through the cracks, but Maemo itself as well.

It's the little things. It's sending out an e-mail about the device program without a single mention of our American users. It's sending out an e-mail telling Canadians that further information would be sent next week, only to see nothing arrive for another three weeks.

As much as I've tried to help people remain patient and not lash out and repeatedly tell people, "don't worry, you'll get yours", I find myself questioning my faith in not just Nokia, but in this whole Maemo project and it deeply saddens me because I really believed in the idea and the product and the company. I'm starting to wonder if my enthusiasm for all of this has actually caused people more disservice than anything else.

I guess that's my drop in the bucket, even if it comes out sounding very melodramatic. Sorry.
