Oh common you don't have to reflash... Its very simple...if you used the .deb files to install just go to settings -> time & language -> text input and choose a vkb under installed input methods...

Also the theme is FOR EVERYONE...it doesn't interfere with your system in any harmful way especially not the .deb files...If you have an error just post it here instead of assuming that you don't have the capability to use it
