Google never even tried to cut a deal to get Nokia onboard, so that left Microsoft as the only partner.
And who made the OS teams device release roadmap?
The OS teams job was to convince the clueless Elop that WP looks backward compared to Harmattan and convince him to betray MS and rule his own empire

Elop met the wrong team.


He should have met with the hardware department and ask them how many MeeGo (Harmattan) compatbile hardware variations they can design between now and ... FAST

and how about the QC and factories' capacity to speed up release of hordes of MeeGo phones for every type of consumer.

Then setup a parallel roadmap for integrating new technologies such as Pureview in a few of those many models.
