My personal opinion is that Hildon is a deserved homage to the original creativity that eventually led us to the maemo that we have today:

It is not divisive or disrespectful to give a tip of the hat to where we came from.

I am not aware of these "divisions." I hope no one is making the mistake of thinking that something like the name means that the new entity will not be supportive of Qt, QML, etc.
