Look at the Asha line for instance..it's doing pretty well in India and Brazil. I just think that Elop somehow could not comprehend Nokia's character/spirit. Also, coming from Microsoft, he was probably oblivious to the general contempt in the market towards MS, which is now being borne jointly by Nokia. All this resulted in diluting Nokia's culture and traditional fanbase. With all the world going gaga over Nokia hardware, he
