i hope it's understandable and possible for you to make the app like this... or you find some people who can help you
Ok, now I have a little bit more time to answer your suggestion.

First thanks for that!

The UI I choose for my application is based on two main reasons:

First of all I must say, that I love to swipe (like everyone who uses the N9). You don't have to hit the little buttons (that you miss maybe in the first time) to get other informations or things like that. So I tried to avoid buttons where ever it was possible and came to the three information screens (in reality it's nothing more than a horizontal listview with three elements, which contains vertical listviews) with additional swiping up/down to load pervious/next matchdays.

Second I didn't like to hide information, when it's not necessary. For example when you tap on a game in other applications there comes up another subwindow with more information like goalgetters and yellow/red cards or substitutes, but you loose the overview of the other games. In my application you see the mostly the rest of the matchday when viewing the goalgetters.

In your suggestion you waste a lot of space with the header. I tried to get one matchday on one page and show the actual league with a background image, so I have more space for the content, that means a higher font pointsize in this case.

Sadly I'm not allowed to use the icons of the leagues/clubs due to copyrights. I asked for permission but didn't get it.

So, that's my little explanation of my thoughts behind the UI, I hope you understand why I'm not going to change it in the way you suggested.
