If you jumped from old version to the last one, you don't have some files in backup folder. Just download my clean backup and use it.
Thanks Schturman, this was the solution - though I don't understand why I needed to download a fresh clean backup when I actually made a backup first thing (K) with this new version. (I had deleted all previous versions including the backup folder prior to installing it 9.04).

For those who may find themselves in this mess, the Y or N or Enter options just keep you in the same loop with no way out.
