The voter turnout is pretty low actually...
Thanks for working out the numbers Wonko Yep it's quite a bit lower than I hoped for. I guess it reflects the community interest and where things are at the moment

It doesn't look so bad when you put the number of application submissions against the number of voters. Although the number of voters is smaller this year, I still think it was right to make the winners and the prize distribution a community decision rather than a jury or some other method

Well, no need to put aside festival of happiness after CC results (rightly one, as it's great success!) by me worrying about future, so lets put it aside.
Oh I really hope the council and board elections can gather more voters, it's a really huge decision for the future of our community here. Although I take some pleasure the coding competition normally beating the council voting for numbers, this time I will be very pleased to see a huge turnout for the council/BoD elections

sad... I knew it was hard work to vote, but I supposed it was substantially easier than coding a full application from scratch.
It's not quite as bad as that.. But right, we tried to make it as easy as possible for people who were eligible to vote to do so. I hope no-one takes the low voter turnout to be a reflection of the quality of their applications, personally I think this was the best group of applications in any of the 3 competitions. Whatever.. please all be proud of your hard work

a number of developers couldn't vote too due to this...
This is true, though I was only aware of less than 10 in this situation. They may have been others who didnt raise it though..

I think the average tmo/maemo.org user is aware of the separation as, like you say, as soon as you try to get involved with other things outside the talk forums (such as editing the wikis) you run into needing to create an account to do that. The average talk.maemo.org user who isn't involved with other things may not be though. It's a lesson from this competition, but hopefully it's something we don;'need to think about for the next one.

I think you're right about that. I sent an email to Woody earlier this morning to see if he knew anything about checking how many voters had used unique voting tokens which would answer that question.
