Actually, I discovered after switching to Arch Linux, I've spent less time managing my distribution than I normally do with Fedora or Ubuntu. I've been letting several my Linux boxes run by themselves for more than a year between updates, and once you've fallen a couple of regular updates behind, it takes a surprising amount of effort to get caught up. With the Arch "rolling update" system, though, you pretty much use the same command whether you updated a week ago or a year ago, and I've had far fewer glitches during updates than I've had with the other distributions.

In any case, I've found managing an Arch system to be quite a bit smoother than I expected. You might be surprised how easy it is.
