This is just a guess, but is it possible that you have a different number stored in your address book to the one that she has registered with whatsapp?

Just after getting a message from her run:

$ ls -lrt /home/user/.yappari/logs/

in a terminal and see what number is shown at the bottom.

(I am just making a guess here and have no idea if the log file will even show the real number if its not in your phonebook

)
