Sure, that's why I would only ever purchase a device that allows a certain level of autonomy. Nokia abandoning the N900 has not had much impact on my usage of the device. In contrast, what use would the iPhone be if Apple pulled the plug? No iCloud, no iTunes, no App Store. The iPhone would be a paperweight.
