Let me explain this splashscreen talk. There are 2 splashscreens in Wazapp actually. Yes, we are throwing sand at your eyes until all messages load. First 1 is showed right on launcher icon click and it's loaded by Harmattan invoker (it's magic, don't ask). After the UI and all code is loaded, first splash goes away, but second splashcreen covers the screen until all your messages are loaded into UI. That one is done in QML/Python side. Personally, I like Tarek ones, but sure, I'm open to dev experiments and trials. I'm just saying, splashcreen cannot be heavy on machine resources, but vice versa it only serves to mask heavy duty loading.
