Hey guys,

I do not want to be one of those guys that requests a compile of a program or ask for a specific app to be developed without knowing what you guys actually go through.

I want to be part of the team. The problem is, I do not know where or how to get started.

I really have limited programming capabilities....QBasic and some Vbasic from ages ago. No linux programming experience

So I have some questions:

What exactly is compiling and how do I do it?

What is scratchbox?

What are some of the easiest programming languages to use for Maemo?

Is Maemo to Linux as Hildon is to KDE/Gnome/Enlightenment etc?

Books to read?

Point me in a general direction please?
