If what I'm thinking doesn't match your thinking or isn't "useful" then convince me You can't be telling anyone who disagrees with your line of thinking that you are thinking in a not useful way... Let me now elaborate on why I disagree with your proposal: We can list free apps into repo.maemo.org once Nokia hands control this month to the NFP if the BoD of the NFP think such a move is suitable Paid apps wouldn't be included obviously; currently they are via Nokia Store - How many of N9 users worldwide know about maemo.org? So you create an alternative paid-apps store something like Cydia are you going to get the same full userbase? If you manage to get ALL users would you get all developers? See the number of good apps on Nokia Store that are no longer maintained; you think all those devs will suddenly bother to list on a new "Community Store"? Look at appsformeego; even when it was working a huge number of free apps were not listed in it...Why? Currently, you can download apps from the Nokia Store, from here on TMO, my-meego.com and n9-apps.com The latter two are like an index of apps for the N9 while removing most RSS apps. Wouldn't it better to create a GUI for either n9-apps.com or my-meego.com since they are an index instead of doing something from scratch all over again? n9-apps.com has Breeze which once set-up on your phone you can click install on your browser on your PC and if its a Store app, it opens Store for it otherwise the relevant file is downloaded for you to install... Its always very easy to suggest to do something new; why not improve existing solutions? Why not make them more cohesive and work better with added functionality? Maybe a GUI for either of those two indexers can have top 10 apps, featured apps (free/paid) etc...
