Also, for an external device, you might actually find that building the driver for the kernel which your N900 runs might be easier and faster than compiling a whole kernel.

Thank you for your answer. So I would like to use the N900 as a Wifi signal repeater, in order to extend my home network. I would like, for example, to connect to my wireless network with the n900 and share the connection via the USB Wifi stick. You think, it's possible?
