In 2000/2001, Siemens SL45 could play MP3, which was first phone able to do so. (of course it was hindered by limited 32MB MMC storage...)
The SoC is Infineon E-GOLD+ PMB6850 (based on 16-bit microcontroller Infineon C166CBC) supported by MAS3507 MPEG 1/2 Layer 2/3 Audio Decoder hardware.

Beat that.
