apkenv works great for me, thanks for asking. Why would I stop that project? You can even get the source code now, that's a great thing!

That's not true anymore for the new open source version (and that's the only version that's supported, as I already wrote somewhere else). The new version will generate a separate folder for every apk, so this is a non-issue.

I'm not sure how preenv implements multi-touch, but I can't see why somebody interesting in adding this feature shouldn't be able to do so. The source is open, and well-documented. If not, free free to ask relevant questions about the apkenv code here if you are planning on adding that feature and submitting a patch.
