to me N900 has made it big

1) I can pick it up for about 100 USD even less when they are so called "broken"
2) with CSSU Thumb and flash 10 installed it has never been more functional (noticed that even Android 4.x needs a flash hack recently)

3) the form factor is more ergonomically sound than the flat mirror designs with 4,5" screens of today

4) XMPP, SIP, Skype built in: what more you need to communcate?

N900 is like the raspberry PI of the smartphone / tablets, its not the fastest but if it fits your purpose it is the ultimate bargain.
