Qwazix clearly said... dumb phone
what do you get from a "dumb phone"???
  • phone calls
  • short messages
  • address book
  • calendar (sometimes)
  • clock / alarm (dito)
nota bene: flight mode was only an alternative to powering off / on the device on a regular basis...
if you want to be able to get / make calls, GSM is probably your best choice (assuming no net access).
