I want to preface this by saying that I DID search the forums for answers to my questions BEFORE posting. If I'm posting something that's already been discussed, it's out an inability to punch in the right search terms, not malice or intended laziness, and I'm sorry. That being said...

I was trying to install Python2.5 back when everyone was having the infamous misspelled "repostory" issue, and was able to install it after I edited my repository names like everyone else. However, now that I have just upgraded from an n800 to an n810 (!!!!), I find myself unable to install Python once again.

On the pymaemo site, it says that Python is no longer available in application manager. Bummer. I tried to follow their instructions. Thye said I had to be in RD mode using the following command in X-Terminal-
sudo flasher --enable-rd-mode
When I do this, I get prompted for a password. Does anyone know what the default password is? I have never set one. Nor did I on my n800, and I noted the same behavior. I found another forum that said "rootme" granted root access, but it didn't work.

I just really, REALLY want to install Python. If anyone can help me do that, I would be SO appreciative.

THANKS
