Has the Calendar and alarms been working well for you?
That's actually the main thing I want out of KDE.
I'm still trying to stop carrying my Tungsten C for DateBook5,
and nothing in Maemo is working well enough yet.

Could your video problems be swap usage?
Perhaps without KDE running you're not hitting the swap file.

Yeah - Kalendar and To-do with reminder alarms (visual and audio) have been working great for me

The only problem I've had at all is that if I set up a "Repeat" in my reminders, I can't find a way register my aknowledgement of the alarm and make it stop going off every 2 mins. So instead - I just quit making my reminders with repeats.

All of this is of course with the understanding that I use KDE exclusively as my desktop (I seldom even go into Maemo anymore) and I keep KOrganizer docked in the System Tray and I don't turn my N810 off either (I just lock the screen). I haven't checked it out officially, but I'm almost certain an alarm set in KDE will not go off once you logout of KDE, let alone turn the device off. This is the main difference I can see between the Nokia ITs and Palms - there is really no "hibernation/wake up".
