Hi everyone,
First post in[I] any[I] forum. But I thought I might have something to contribute here...
I have a motorola i580 on Nextel and just bought an N810
I was frustrated at first, but managed to get it to work.
Some details:
I have an unlimited data plan ($15.00, but I hear you can get it for $10.00 now)
The phone has wap web access.
The phone requires that you dial s=2 to establish a packet data link.
The phone number field in the N810 won't allow an alpha character, so this won't work.
It also requires at least some kind of entry in this space to continue.
It will allow a space character.
When it sends that to the phone (AT 'space') the phone will simply reply with "ok"
No user name or password is required. Just left blank.
Now, under the advanced options, there is a tab labled "other"
There is a field labled "Supplementary AT commands"
Put "atdt s=2" there.
Now it all seems to work just fine.
Slow, but it works.
I get about 21kbps.
Browsing works (slowly)
e-mail to/from my pop server provider works.
Seeing my position on an auto downloaded satalite map while driving down the highway running Maemo Mapper is really cool!
Enjoy
