I have been able to install and use it on my N800. The one that worked is called mc_4.6.1-2_armel.deb, from january 2007. I think that it is the same version that you can find on http://www.komputika.net/maemo/ (I'm not sure, however, what I installed was a backup copy I had on my flash card). .
