I've one, based on AX88178 chip, already compiled its driver on N900. I'll test it just need proper cable to be able to connect (USB NIC<-->N900).
Don't bother, host mode is not working with 3.5.x nor is it working in upstream, and I know it's way out of my skills to even try to fix it.

Overclocking is something I will never implement, support or suggest. Reasons are well discussed on #maemo. N900 is fast enough, it's software that's slow, sucky and bloated
