That may not be entirely correct. For example, WP7 isn't supported now right? That's because all WP7 phones were eligible for WP7.5 and would be for WP7.8 too. Most probably WP8 would go thru the same cycle too and dropping support for WP8 =/= dropping support for WP8.x
