If you ask me (but no one did!), these keyboards are mainly good for typing emails or long docs. For those purposes, you aren't hitting the touch screen very often.
I don't use my bt keyboard much, for exactly the reason that it's somewhat awkward. I would like to have the keyboard sitting in a totally different place than my N800, but then hitting the screen would be awkward.
So I don't use my bt keyboard -- I use the virtual keyboard.
But if I was doing a substantial amount of typing, I would use it.
This of course would apply to non-bt keyboards as well as bt keyboards.
