An update on the issues some folks have been seeing when using Pierogi with certain Sony devices -- during the course of browsing some IR documentation by an expert on Pronto remotes, I came across the following statement:

Sony codes are fairly simple. Sony builds a lot of power into the IR senders, and good noise rejection in their receivers. They use no redundancy or error checking in the code.
So, it may just be that Sony devices demand a stronger IR signal than do other devices. If this is the case, I doubt there is really anything we can do to improve the N900's range.
