There used to be a gimp-lite type program called Horizon that was available for the 770. I am kind of surprised that no one has ported it forward as it was amazingly useful for its simplicity. I liked how you had an infinite (limited by memory) canvas that you just selected sections out of to export.
It had a useful cloning tool too for touching up photos.

Also there was some talk on the mailing lists about using the pressure sensitivity of the tablet touch screen to vary brush widths and also using the tablet as an bluetooth pressure sensitive tablet peripheral for your regular computer. But I don't think either of those ideas ever went anywhere. I am hoping that I am wrong.
