Next question: I now apparently have both mmpc and mpd installed, but how does mpd manifest itself. It doesn't identify itself as a separate application in the Extra menu, and mmpc (which does) comes up in appearance the same as before (before the mpd was installed). How do I get it to scan and play my music? Anyway, many thanks for steering me to a successful installation procedure.
