That's bad luck.

That means you bough a new SIM card with a new phone number but maybe that number was assigned to a user like one or two years ago and he/she registered to WhatsApp.

And now you're suffering that.

EDIT: And it just expired a couple of weeks ago, May 16th, 2013.
