@Estel, the "incident" may not be as dramatic as dropping the thing in the loo. In my case it just started playing up for no obvious reason. It was only a few more observations over a period of a few months when I noticed that it was more likely to happen after leaving the phone in the bathroom while taking a shower that I made the connection with moisture. I fear that even such a simple thing as carrying it in the pocket may cause it again, if the weather gets hot and humid.
