You have the right to do many things to YOURSELF and YOUR devices. You can install keyloggers and similar software on your own PC or send/save a copy of all texts, email and voice communication from your own phone. Corporations are allowed to do many of the same thing on their company devices allowing for remote location and remote wipe and auditing of all transactions. It is illegal when you install such things on other people's personal devices without them knowing about it.
