Well, not really, the only reason why what you say is true is because people need $$$$ and they'll never do [very quickly] anything standard so that we can stick the OS that we want and build/buy the HW that we want. Same happened with PC's years ago, and is still happening nowadays with macs.

I'm happy for Canonical though, despite the fact that I'd never buy a phone/OS combination that forces you to use both hands to operate it. Happy to have another alternative to crappy android and closed ios and wp.
