Well, I'd agree that they can polish their product line on someone else's dime. That's why I bought the N800, when the N810 was unveiled and the price had dropped to about $210 for the N800. (I could have been happy waiting a couple months, but wasn't interested in paying that premium for the slight enhancements.) They're not making an awful lot of profit off of that, but it gives me a decent tablet. Maybe, at some point, I'll buy an N810. Perhaps as a backup Diablo machine, while I'm not buying their brand-spanking-new next thing.

Unless you're real tight on cash, I don't see the rationality of refusing to buy the N800 at all. Just figure it will be ditched, and buy it only at the low price that a ditched tablet is worth.
