I won't call them "un-evil" but they are quite friendly, especially lately with Linux. There's been a few things taken from Android into Linux, especially in terms of ARM devices.

Apple... that's a whole nother thing. If you think otherwise, you're thinking it wrong.
LOL! so now Apple is evil?

Let me tell you about some what apple has used and given to open source:

* They used KDE:s html rendering engine and forked it as WebKit and still work with it open.

* CaldDAv/CardDav

* Cups print framework

and so on. So stop this ridicilous FUD about Apple. I dislike Iphone but seriously Apple has used WAY more open standard/open source, and developed open, than Microsoft did under they 90ths and Apple has contributed back the the community also.

Btw. MacOSX lowlevel(Darwin fork of OpenBSD if I remember right) is open.

And btw if I remember right even Microsoft has contibuted alot to Linux lattely so in that case no one wins.

Again bussiness as usual. I prefer to not be blinded by anyone of those companys. All doing if for bussines. No one is better than the other.
