For linux users out there,
another program I haven't seen mentioned on this thread is k9copy.
Thanks for posting this information. Looking at the screen shots it may do the job in one stage.

I am slowly testing the water in preparation to switch my pc to Linux and information such as this provides yet more incentive to do so.
