As for the 10-inch tablet.. that depends on what she wants. Generally, for most people as an all-around good tablet, I would recommend either any of the Samsung Galaxy Tab/Note or the ASUS Transformer. Transformer is far better for ports and if they sometimes want to still feel like they still have a laptop computer. Galaxy Tab/Note is just a good, sleek all-around tablet. I'd go Tab instead of Note if they have no reason to use the stylus.
Thanks, good advice. I doubt they'll have much use for the stylus.

Anyways it seems in terms of,
Specifications: Note ~ ASUS > Tab
First-party support: ASUS ~ Note > Tab
Weight and Portability: Tab ~ Note > ASUS
"Feel" : ASUS > Note ~ Tab
Price: Tab > Note ~ ASUS
Accessory: Keyboard > Stylus > C-pen

Seems like the best option is the successor to the TF300. ASUS' next budget-oriented Transformer. However, nothing's been announced unfortunately. So I will tell him to look for the Infinity at a discounted price.

And the next flagship Transformer, the TF701t, doesn't have anything special.
The special additions seem to be USB 3.0 support, 4K output, Tegra4 SoC, 1600p screen.

I think USB 2.0 support, a 1200p screen and output are enough. All it needs is a new SoC and nothing that fancy, a QCM Snapdragon 400 SoC will do. That for $300 is a good buy, a successor to the TF300.
To sweeten the deal, it can be fully plastic but made thinner and those outlandish bezels shaved off.
