For what it is worth, I bought an iPod Touch and returned it after a week of use. I even had it jailbroken.
I thought the web experience was below par, the N810's is much better. The keyboard on the touch just wasn't great with my bigger fingers. I found the music playback functions to not be up to standard either. You would need to look at the touch directly to change volume or track. Canola on the 810 is a much better player.
My humble vote is for the 810.
