If it is an adreno 3xx SoC from Qualcomm then I am quite content, dual-core or otherwise. A dual-core Krait based CPU clocked at north of 1GHz will provide great performance on an optimised platform like Jolla. I wanted a 28nm SoC with a GPU that supports the current API standards, and fingers crossed that is what i have got.

You say "fullhd" as if anyone here was honestly expecting that, we weren't. There were a lot of people who expected 720p, however....

Agreed, my N9 frequently grinds to a halt when I have half a dozen browser windows open along with a few chat windows etc. Live multitasking with active frames in the background is resource intensive, a bump up from 1GB would have been nice. The S4 Mini comes with a dual-core krait tied to 1.5GB, that would have been nice.

Agreed. That i am at the end of my contract (cheap so I can wait) and desire a shiny new piece of tech to replace my two year old N9, is my problem.

I am looking at the amazing hardware of the Xperia z1 and repulsed by the fact that it comes with android.
I am looking at the Swipe style UI of the BB Z30 with its N9 style feed aggregation plus live multitasking, and a little put off by the closed'ness of it.
I am looking at the Jolla phone and loving the open'ness and the UI intercation, but I've just had a bit of a shock with the hardware it's going to run on.

A set of choices I imagine many people are weighing up.

just for reference, this is roughly what i had in mind as easily achievable mid-range hardware at the close of 2013:
