Well, you said any, so I'll get the responses started for you. I must say first that I have about the same amount of experience as you do with this subject, but I find it very interesting, so I hope people will help you out and we can all learn from your thread.
My only experience with this sort of thing so far is to be able to view and control the tablet from my XP laptop. I wrote a
simple 'how to' you can find in the KDE forum called 'VNC made easy ' In that thread I mention tightVNC software for your Laptop and the fact that if you download and install KDE to your tablet you will then have x11vnc running because it was imbedded in KDE. My understanding is that both of these programs can be used either as client or server. You might enjoy KDE anyway. Quite a new level of possibilties open up with it installed.
