Yes, I see no problem with that license type.

In Jollas case it would be plain stupid to closed source it because its already open. If Jolla decided to close it people would fork current code.

So there is no point for them to do that. But if thirdparty company decide to fork and closed source the changes its up to them because the license works that way. Its same issue with Qt except Qt is using dual license.

But I still wonder what bussines plan Jolla really has? I doubt they'r idea to sell SailfishOS licenses will work for others. Especially if all apps would be open sourced.. Simply because the tech industry still is scared using opensource. Some actually got scared away from Qt also it seems

Thats probadly why Jolla using BSD instead of LGPL2.1. Atleast they may get little better chance to get more companys intrested. But I do think silica will be dual licensed later on. Just let them release device first.
