Should be implemented. Every alarm can display 3 messages during it's run. They can be configured by pressing the "add" icon in the edit dishes screen (see also opening post for screenshots). It will trigger the alarm, and also post a mail like notification. Regular banners have a max display time of 10 seconds, so you can just miss them. Turning it into a note will pause the app (not very convenient if you are using timers).
