The average Joe won't buy a Jolla over Android or iOS or WP. But a savvy user and/or Harmattan/Nokia fan just may. As would people that are finally starting to look for an option that fits them better than the boring/staid iOS (iOS 7 helps) or the lacking in customization WP (8.1 might change some minor things) to be considered an option by iOS or Android holdouts.

But seriously... you're talking to the people that would buy Jolla mainly because it's not iOS or Android or WP. So let's start with the obvious. Linux based. Open source. Gesture based. The company has embraced the community and tools/frameworks/tools/software that most here know, trust or use nearly daily.

And each point - I know the counterpoints for the most part - will invariably not be enough for you. So let me ask you the converse, why wouldn't you buy one? Lack of sales? Nothing is on sale as of this very post. Because it's unfamiliar? So was iOS, Android and WP (but not WinCE at the core of WP7) at one time or another.
