Disabling widgets from modern menu extensions saves power dramatically. With widgets on and no activity (airplane mode) drains 20% overnight. With widgets off same mode: only 2 percent.

Looks like anything that tries to query the battery status drains it too rapidly. Already gave up battery monitor and billboard apps.
