Just got one, but they charged me shipping to Hawaii. I got $30 off for getting a credit card which shall be promptly paid off. Also got 2 16 gb cards for $69.00 each off of Ebay so the box will have 32 gb of storage. Will use it as a photo bank so I might get 2 more 16 gb cards. Planning on wandering the earth for a year (or more) so the N800 will be a good companion, 45 gb of divx movie/mp3, ebooks, etc.. The wifi will be nice to skype and surf when there is a hot spot.
I was going to take a 160 gb hard drive, but I think I'll just upload the images and video I take. If the hard drive breaks, gets lost or stolen, I'll be SOL. I figure 64 gb should be enough of a buffer for the media content and any temporary storage of images from a digital camera. Plus total weight of the capability to have web access, skype, multimedia, ebook, photo bank, gps, games, palm emulator, various programs ~ 9 oz. That's ultralight, hehe.
I figure out of pocket for a 32 gb solid state drive, 8 oz unix umpc = $330.00. A lot cheaper than say a Vaon Everun and less headaches from Windows and less platform to occupy drive space, plus its half the weight and extra batteries are super light. I also believe that the wifi in the N300 is superior. The power supply alone for the intel umpcs weigh at least 12 oz.. With the N300, I can use a USB / charger tip unit which fits in to an AC USB adapter or a Cigarette lighter adapter.
