I would find it far worse if they gave a date and did not live up to it than give the release date much later but actually meet it.
If you were around for the N900 launch you will know the hell people go through when, in that instance Nokia, announce a date only to then get a day or two away and then announce a months delay. Do that a few times and you soon realise that not knowing would have been far less stressful.

Jolla do not have a big PR team, nor should they at this stage, so I am happy to wait for a proper announcement.
