If you read this thread we have pointed to install ubiboot at first:

when ubiboot is working you just copy the files to partition4 who should already be mounted in your linuxbox (when USB connected to your phone and ubiboot mode):
sudo tar --numeric-owner -xvf sailfish*.tar.bz2 -C /media/$USER/Alt_OS
replace $USER with your linux username.
Notice sailfishos for N9 is
only
for geeks that like to play with stuff.
Actually I think people better try nemo at first before play with sailfishos on your N9.
